Tips to maintain your boiler (Updated)

In this blog, we cover a few tips and tricks that you can do to maintain your boiler. Hopefully, these can help you identify any issues that may need fixing before they cause any further damages. Carry on reading to find out more...

Keep it clean

Not only is getting your boiler cleaned by a Gas Safe engineer great, it is always a good habit to make sure the surroundings of your boiler is also kept clean by dusting it. The reason for this is because it helps prevent any dust from getting inside your boiler.

Boiler Pressure

Checking to see if the pressure on your boiler is too high or too low is a great way to ensure your central heating is performing well. If the pressure is lower than what it should be, it will need repressuring and if it is high, it will need bleeding. If you are unsure of how to do this, get in touch with a Gas Safe registered engineer and they will be happy to help.

Don't turn off your boiler

When it comes to the summer months, people often turn their boiler off, to help save money. Leaving it off throughout the entire summer period can be more harmful, the reason for this is because the boiler components have not been used for a while and may break down. It is good to make sure you turn your boiler on every now and again to ensure it is running properly.
